Classes for children and young people

Yoga for Girls - 12-19 years

Mondays - 5.00-6.00pm - Running from September 10th onwards

Loving Pilates Studio, 10 Gawsworth Avenue, Didsbury, M20 5NF

This series of classes offers an opportunity for young women aged 12-19 to practice yoga in a safe and fun space in the beautiful studio of Loving Pilates in Didsbury.

Yoga can help young women to build their fitness, self-regulation, awareness, spirituality and sense of self in the world. This is particularly important as pressures and stressors continue to grow for teenagers today at a time in their lives when so many changes are happening for the body and brain.

Teen yoga can help to build tools and practices for lifelong heath and confidence. We will explore physical practices and also allow for some time for relaxation and shared discussions.

Investment is £42 for 6 classes. This class pass is valid for 7 weeks. If you have booked and want cancel a class, class is only refunded if cancelled with a minimum of 12 hours pre class.

There are maximum 9 students in the class.

Yoga and Mindfulness Course for 8-12 year olds

Next course starting in January 2019 - please get in touch here to register your interest.

Orange Bloom Yoga Studio, Brook Street, Hazel Grove, SK7 4QZ

This series of classes offers an opportunity for pre-teens (age 8-12 year olds), to reduce their perceived stress and anxiety level through the wonderful practices of yoga and mindfulness. Children of this age have lots to contend with nowadays, so the aim of the classes is for children to enjoy themselves, and to come out feeling happier and more relaxed in themselves.

The classes will include

  • Mindful movement

  • Breath awareness and practices

  • Relaxation practices

  • Exploration of emotions

All of which children can use to cope and manage when difficult situations arise or stress starts to build. The course is for children of all ability - sporty, bendy, unsporty, not bendy at all, boys and girls.

Yoga and mindfulness practices have so many benefits for young people. On an emotional level, this includes

  • lifting of mood and an increased sense of optimism

  • confidence

  • a sense of willpower and ‘can do’ energy

  • an overall feeling of calm and peacefulness

On a physical level this includes:

  • improving sleep

  • improving posture

  • improving flexibility, co-ordination and balance and strength

These benefits cannot be understated as children move towards being a teenager and as their body changes and grows.
