Meet Sally Eccleston of Yoga with Sally

Sally Eccleston is a qualified yoga teacher as well as an educational psychologist currently based in Manchester, England. She has been working with children and young people since 2011, and after completing 5 years of study and work experience to become an educational psychologist, decided to travel to Thailand to complete her 200 hours foundation adults’ teacher training with Centered Yoga.

Here’s what she says about her own yoga journey and experiences along the way:

“I have been practicing yoga since 2012, at which time I was living in Manchester and was lucky enough to experience a variety of styles of teaching including Ashtanga Vinyasa. As is true for many people, my practice began solely at the physical level to compliment cardio-based training which I was involved in at the time. However, I soon realised that there was more to yoga than the postures themselves, and began to delve deeper. In 2016 I decided to complete a teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga at Centered Yoga in Koh Samui under the guidance of Paul Dallaghan. Since then I have attended a number of workshops and retreats, learning from a number of experienced teachers along the way, including Kathryn Budig, Monique Fryer, Donna Southwell, Vicki Shields, Andrea Everingham, Anna Taylor and Ana Forrest. I now vary my own practice between a number of styles, including Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Restorative.

I would describe yoga as a journey of self-inquiry in order to strip back the layers of ourself, to learn what our bodies need and to feel good. I regularly draw on the eight limbs of yoga in order to offer a fuller understanding of the practice. I hope to offer a fun, adaptable and calming practice which is open to all.”

Sally has since completed 120 hours of training with Special Yoga in therapeutic yoga for children with additional needs, and yoga and mindfulness for children aged 2-13 and families.

Her offerings now vary from regular adults’ classes to family classes to 1:1 bespoke sessions to sessions for small groups of children in school, to trainings for adults. The thread which holds all of these offerings together is love and compassion for all of her students, each of whom bring something different to every session. Sally incorporates the different elements of her experience, skills, knowledge and personal practice in yoga, mindfulness and meditation in order to create a balanced and appropriate service to all ages, groups and individuals.

Sally is fully insured and DBS checked. All of her trainings are Yoga Alliance accredited. Bespoke sessions, interventions and trainings are available.
